There's a fine line between high street and premium, and the bridging brands that connect these two are pretty few. While there may not be the cache of a hot brand name, nor the buzz of getting something for very little, if design is important to you, then there are some definite pros of buying good quality, good design, and paying a little more for it.
So what's Hoss? From Madrid, it was set up in '94, and has 2 stores in the UK (1 on Regent St), a bit in Paris, and the rest in Spain. It has a fairly wide collection of womenswear and accessories (bags, jewelry, shoes etc). When I say wide, I firstly mean its quite broad, with many styles ranging from daywear to casual eveningwear. And then there's the fact that it doesn't feel like it's British, Spanish or anything really. Which is nice.
There's great detail: a top I saw yesterday had big studs on the chest, covered in a thin chiffon or net. There was a very cute beige skirt and cropped jacket in what looked like coated linen, making it patent. Different, a little more... interesting. Some of the clothing and footwear styles are, admittedly, more plain and some shapes are a touch mature, but there are great pieces, and the jewelry is really heavenly. I love Marni necklaces, and these remind me of those. Really good prices, too. What I would say, though, is that while the site (http://hossintropia.com/) is pretty and dynamic, the products look better in store. Also, some items would be better styled with jeans or fitted pants, as many of the shapes are quite voluminous, so you could get a better, sharper silhoette.
